IP Reputation Management

How InterLIR Global monitors IP reputation and handles abuse for every block on the marketplace — for both Customers and Suppliers.

Blacklist Scanning

Blocks are scanned against major email and DNSBL blacklists before activation and throughout the lease period.

Abuse Mailbox Monitoring

InterLIR Global maintains registered abuse contacts with RIRs and handles incoming complaints on behalf of Suppliers.

Tenant Activity Oversight

Suspicious usage patterns are detected early to prevent reputation damage before it escalates.

KYC on All Counterparties

Every Customer and Supplier goes through identity and business verification before accessing the marketplace.

IP Reputation Management at InterLIR Global

Every IPv4 block listed on the InterLIR Global platform is subject to reputation checks and ongoing abuse monitoring. This protects both parties: Customers receive blocks that are clean and ready to route, while Suppliers protect the long-term value of their address space.

What Is IP Reputation?

IP reputation is the trust score of an address block based on its history of use. Blocks with a history of spam, phishing, or malware end up on blacklists — which reduces their deliverability, routing acceptance, and market value.

Clean IPs command higher lease and sale prices. Blocks with a compromised reputation require remediation before they can be used effectively.

What InterLIR Global Checks

Before a block is made available on the platform, and continuously during active leases, InterLIR Global runs the following checks:

  • Email and DNSBL blacklists — major spam and abuse block lists
  • RIR abuse history — whether the block has open abuse complaints at RIPE NCC, ARIN, APNIC, LACNIC, or AFRINIC
  • Routing status — whether the block has conflicting route objects or active BGP announcements from other parties
  • WHOIS accuracy — correct registration and contact information in the RIR database

When Checks Are Performed

StageCheck
Before listingSupplier block is scanned before it becomes available
At activationBlock is verified clean before Customer receives the LOA
During leasePeriodic re-checks throughout the active lease period
On abuse reportImmediate investigation when a complaint is received

How Abuse Incidents Are Handled

When an abuse report is received — from an RIR, a third-party blacklist operator, or any other source:

  1. The report is logged and the affected block is identified
  2. The Supplier and Customer are notified
  3. The nature of the abuse is investigated
  4. The Customer is given a remediation deadline
  5. If the issue is not resolved, the assignment can be suspended
  6. Repeat or severe abuse results in removal from the platform

InterLIR Global does not guarantee that all blocks are free of any reputation issues at all times. However, blocks with known unresolved issues are not listed as available.

What Customers Receive

Before receiving a LOA (Letter of Authorization), Customers are provided with:

  • Blacklist check results at the time of activation
  • Confirmation that the block has no open RIR abuse complaints
  • Routing documentation for clean BGP announcement

Supplier Obligations

As a Supplier on the platform, you remain the RIR-registered holder of the address space. This means:

  • Abuse reports from RIRs are addressed to you and must be handled promptly
  • You are responsible for maintaining a valid abuse contact in the RIR database
  • InterLIR Global acts as your operational point of contact for abuse handling during active leases
